Batman: Arkham City Confirmed Villains

One of the things we are all looking forward to is finding out who we’re going to be up against in the next Arkham installment. Here’s some of the ones we know about!

The Riddler

He was there for the first game, but to the disappointment of many was not a secret boss or any such thing. He provided a fun side tracking exercise in solving his riddles and finding his trophies, adding to length of the game somewhat and was a welcome addition, but maybe now we will get to meet him face to face, or knuckle to face.

Harley Quinn

The Joker’s sidekick, sexier than ever and ready for revenge after the last outing which left her lover in a pretty bad state.

The Joker

The main villain in Arkham Asylum, the guy who started the whole mess in the first place. He’s back, despite what happened with a new bunch of crazy goons.
Expertly voiced by Mark Hamill.

Two-Face

Hinted at the end of the first game that Batman was off to face this foe and foil his plans, we hopefully get the chance to find out what happened. The game is set something like three years after the first.

Hugo Strange

Rumoured to be the main villain of this game, little is known about him. I guess all will be revealed.

Catwoman

The will they/ won’t they romance between the bat and the cat might make an appearance in the new game. Could you blame Batman?

Victor Zsasz

This crazy guy was the first we met in Arkham Asylum after the Joker sprung his trap. He wasn’t too hard to take out, but my guess is that he’s not too happy about it.

Calendar Man

We were able to go into this guys cell in Arkham Asylum and from that see first hand his obsession and that he had escaped along with the rest of the inmates.
In this game it is rumoured that if you play on certain dates during the year, Calendar Man will have special surprises in store.

Black Mask

Judging by this screen from the trailer and comparing it to the Black Mask outfit from the first game has people wondering whether or not this is him getting his mask kicked in.

Mr Freeze
It has been strongly hinted that he will be making an appearance in this game. Fans loved spotting his frozen over cell in the first game. Warner Brothers accidentally leaked some avatars to be released in conjunction with the game. Freeze was one of them. Whether this means he will actually appear is another question entirely, but it’s a clue.
A better clue is that in an interview with voice actor LeMarche, he stated that he had been recording for Mr Freeze.

Talia Al Ghul
Actress Stana Katic on her Twitter page stated that she had recorded the voice for the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul, who briefly appeared dead in Arkham Asylum.

Bane, Killer Croc, Scarecrow
Most players of the first game will have seen one of these at the very end of the game appear letting you know that they survived to fight another day.
There could be a possibility of more Scarecrow nightmares.
Killer Croc and Bane were two more of the leaked avatars.

The Penguin
One of the trailers shows Batman gliding past a place famously owned by the Penguin, and it stands to reason that in a city owned by Gothams biggest criminal masterminds, the Penguin is going to have a nest somewhere. He was also a leaked avatar.

Poison Ivy
Having played a major role in the first game, it is possible that she will make a return, again being a leaked avatar.

Solomon Grundy
A zombie-like villain originally from Green Lantern, but more recently a Bat-baddy. Another of the leaked avatars. Possibly mistaken for a toxin mutation.

Robin/Nightwing
There have been a few whispers, though possibly just wishful fans suggesting a two-player co-operative mode with the Boy Wonder. Maybe?
