‘The Simpsons: Tapped Out’ is one of the most undeniably addictive mobile game apps out there. Despite being a freemium game (which is something we generally hate) it’s humour and inclusion of classic favourites has us all hooked.
It’s updated often with new buildings and characters, so we can only hope that some time soon we will have the following inclusions to fill out our perfect Springfields!
Buildings
Burns Casino

A new addition to the Squidport can be one of its brightest attractions. It could also start a questline which unlocks a skin for Bart’s treehouse, turning into a rival gambling house.
Springfield Mall

The mall itself is an ugly building. A huge pink block that will take a huge amount of space from more deserving, eye pleasing structures. The biggest reason to include this though would be that it could be the site of the game’s next expansion.
In a similar way to Krustyland, it could be entered to find a new map for designing its interior.
It would come with more of Springfield’s well known stores such as The Leftorium, I Can’t Believe It’s A Law Firm!, and Stoner’s Pot Palace.

Courthouse

Unlocked with Judge Snyder, this is desperately needed to complete the town square!

The Happy Sumo

The restaurant that nearly killed Homer after badly preparing deadly blowfish.
It could come with Akira, who would also unlock his Karate School.

Noiseland Arcade

An often visited location that could come with any of the missing kids.

Springfield Harbor
As a sort of extension to the Squidport could be the more industry based docks. Here we could have things like Lil’ Lisa Recycling Plant and the Lighthouse.

Ayn Rand School for Tots

The town needs its best daycare centre. It could potentially come with its owner Ms. Sinclair or even Maggie’s arch rival Gerald.

The Jazz Hole

Because why wouldn’t you want one of the finest entertainment establishments in your town? The temptation would be to include Bleedin’ Gums, but I’m not one for including dead characters.

Sapphire Lounge

Just the kind of place Mayor Quimby is hoping for. It should also unlock its star attraction: Princess Kashmir.

La Maison Derrière

Of course, if the Sapphire Lounge wasn’t enough, there’s always this other place. Marge could get a job here doing ventriloquism. Owner Belle should come with it.

Costingtons

Though it’s a nice building, the main reason for wanting this is so that it can come as a package with the Yes guy. Obviously, he would only work in game if he was voiced.

KBBL

Springfield’s radio station pops up fairly often in the show and could serve a similar function to the Channel 6 building in the game. Character unlocks are Bill and Marty obviously.

Itchy and Scratchy Studios

It might just be me, but there aren’t enough big block buildings in the game. This could come with Roger Myers Jr

Lonely Arms

The apartment building where Lenny and probably some other batchelors live.
Generic Buildings
This is a bit of a weird one but it would be good to have some boring buildings that can be built as many times as you like in the same way as the houses are. They can fill gaps in the town or be used to create second rows of buildings for your blocks. Generic stuff like bakeries, delis, grocers, hotels and pawn shops etc.

Characters
Maggie

The only Simpson who is a cameo appearance in the game rather than a proper character. Although it would be good to have her fully fledged, it might be strange to have a baby wandering about town by herself. She should come with her Sandbox.
Crazy Cat Lady

Dr Eleanor Abernathy MD JD tasks would mostly involve flinging cats about the place. There aren’t enough cats in the game.
Lionel Hutz

Everyone’s favourite useless lawyer. He should be unlocked with his law firm but can just as easily work out of a dumpster.
Troy McClure

The famous actor would be a fine addition to Springfield’s celebrity element.
Jimbo and Dolph

We have Nelson and Kearney, so we need the full set.
Herb Powell

Not technically a Springfielder, but Homer’s long lost brother has been long lost again for too long.
Old Jewish Guy

One of the towns many unnamed yet hilarious residents.
Kirk and Luann Van Houten
Mrs. Muntz
Rafael

This sarcastic man pops up all over the place in the show so could easily be another Moleman, Squeaky Teen odd job guy.
More women
Maybe it’s because a lot of the female characters aren’t as interesting as the males, but Springfield’s she population is a little low.

School teachers

It just seems strange that the school is running with only one teacher, although as there aren’t more than a handful of students maybe it’s not such a big deal.
Kids
So on that note, why not add some of the children?

Decorations
Vehicles
Homer’s Sedan
Marge’s Stationwagon
Flanders’ Geo
Moe’s Sedan
Moleman’s Gremlin
Canyonero
The Homer
Willie’s Mower
Other
A Smaller Red Brick Wall

Like the one next to the house there.
Trampoline (Tramabopoline)

The trampoline is a vital part of Springfield lore.

Springfield Gorge
Doghouse
Wall of Fame
Elementary Jungle Gym
Terrain
Springfield currently can be decorated with grass, roads and pavement but it could use some other things like mud, cobblestone, dirt and sand. It would be great if there could be an option to have smaller blocks of it too and maybe curves.
It would also be great to get water in Krustyland. A slightly more ambitious idea would be to have a coaster track that could be laid like road to design a unique ride.
Features
After all that visual stuff, there are a few technical things we’d like addressed too!
Decoration Categories
With all the great stuff being released regularly, the amount of things in the list is getting pretty long, so swiping through to find stuff can be frustrating. It would be good to get a category for trees/shrubs, benches, walls/fences etc for quicker navigation.
Character Locator
As the number of playable characters grows too, it gets increasingly difficult to find them sometimes, particularly little ones like Ralph. If there was some kind of jump to menu that would be great.
Increased zoom
Zooming in is fine, but the zoom out limit isn’t great.
Set All Jobs
An option that allows you to set any untasked character on the jobs that take a set amount of time. E.g. ‘Set All 1hr Tasks’ or ‘Set All 24hr Tasks’. It’ll save a lot of time and tapping for people who have other things to do.
Cancel Task
Currently the only way to cancel a task that has been set is to store the character or the building that they are in. This isn’t ideal as storing buildings resets their payout timer. It also can’t be done at all with Homer or Lisa.
Cash for Donuts
This one is always going to be a dream. Donuts are the way that the makers get money from the game and they are already pretty generous with the freebies compared to other freemium games. Oh well.
Move Characters
Just as you can move decorations and buildings, it would be great to be able to drag and drop civilians. Sometimes you just want them in a particular place so you can get a cool screengrab.
Friends Can See Uncollected Tasks
I’ve noticed that if you set a character a task, then visiting neighbours will only see it for as long as it is meant to take e.g. Homer on his MyPad is only viewable for 45 seconds.
But, if the player switches off and doesn’t come back for a few hours, Homer will be on his MyPad until tapped. It seems strange that neighbours don’t see him on it when you have left him playing.
Elevation
Players have come up with nifty, clever ways of making hills from hedges and so on, but it would be good to be able to raise and dip the ground as standard.
Multiplier Notifier
We have various decorations and the Conform-O-Meter that adds to a reward multiplier but we have no way of seeing the total.
(Actually there is one way. Wait for a Gulp-N-Blow payout. It is normally $100, so whatever you have on top of that is your percentage.)
Building Jobs
As characters only have a limited amount of task spaces, it might be good to have some that are set by the buildings instead. The Be Sharps could sing on Moe’s roof, all children could be called to school, party goers called to Stu’s Disco etc.
Tasks for Animals
Jub Jub is a recent release and so far is the only pet to have tasks. It would be great for the other pets to get their own too. SLH could go for a walk with Bart, the police dog could go sniffing for trouble etc.
More Land
With all the great updates coming so regularly, it’s getting tough to find places to put them! A bit more land would always be great!
Water Links To Sea
If you run a river right down to the beach, it stops there, looking a bit odd. It would be fantastic if it would connect to the ocean. Same goes for a few decorations too such as Springfield Falls and Camp Krusty.
Export Complete Image of Your Springfield
It takes a good while to screengrab every portion of town and stitch it together. A quick image save would be marvelous.
