WARNING: ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM SPOILERS
Murder, Marriage and Madness
While wandering through Windhelm we came across a murder scene and promptly offered to crack the case.
We went to the Jarls court to look for permission to do some detective work and found Ulfric Stormcloak giving one of his followers a motivational speech.
Turned out it was the Court Wizard. At least I hope it was, else we put the wrong guy in prison…
Here’s J’zargo by one of the devices that the wizard can look forward to getting acquainted with.
In the small village of Ivarstead, I met this woman. Her name is Lynly Star-Sung. She works as a musician in the local Inn charging 5 gold for requests. She seemed to take a liking to me though and played me a special tune for free.
I put on my Amulet of Mara (to signify that I intended to court and marry her), but she didn’t seem to notice…
There was different luck for my friend Klimmek though as I talked him into approaching Fastred, the woman he loved, and winning her over. Lydia and I had first met him when he asked us to carry some supplies up the 7000 steps and since then he was very grateful. Even more so since I got him a woman.
After popping into Riften to collect on a bounty, we left and headed out to our next quest. As soon as we left the city though, a dragon attacked. Joining us in the battle were the local guards and farmers. Bravely fighting by my side was Dravin Llanith, a Dunmer farmer.
The battle was tough, but after the death of the dragon, there was only one casualty. The man who had been at my flank, Dravin Llanith.
J’zargo and I journeyed on, fetching a few books for the librarian at the college from dangerous caves on dungeons and helping a number of people. Together we finally found the Staff of Magnus after defeating a dangerous Lich. J’zargo took a liking to a ghostly sword we found however.
We returned to the College, where I was made Arch Mage before we moved on for more adventure.
In Kynesgrove I befriended the local ale expert, Roggi Knot-Beard, who needed help getting hold of his family shield that had been lost.
I felt it was time to part ways with J’zargo after he failed to be there for me when I was attacked by a dangerous Blood Dragon on the way. Besides that, our travels were probably interfering with his studies.
I went on alone…
A friendly giant. I say friendly… I mean he didn’t attack me which seemed to be the usual reaction I get from his kind.
The giant proved useful when a Cave Bear appeared out of nowhere to try and eat me.
Ganna and Gemma Uriel: miserable old twins from Kynesgrove.
Passing through Kynesgrove I met up with Roggi Knot-Beard again who asked to join me. I took him back to Breezehome to kit him out with some good gear that I’d looted on my travels.
Before:
After:
A frantic pic of a Blood Dragon slipping from a cliff edge while in mortal combat with me. At this stage Roggi had been knocked out for the count.
I smote this one. Roggi shouldn’t be taking credit.
Roggi and I by the Word Wall guarded by this Dragon.
Cute…
While travelling with Lydia all that time ago I met a man called Froki who challenged me to hunt down some Guardian animals. Lydia and I dealt with the wolf and skeever with no problem at all.
It was only when Roggi and I found the Guardian Mudcrab that I wondered what I’d got into.
It was a giant. Bigger than a mammoth probably. Here I had my Flame Atronach distract it. You can’t see it, because it died at this moment.
Some Joker thought it would be funny to leave someones legs in their armour.. Didn’t find out who, Roggi and I slaughtered everyone in this fort. (Except an odd old woman named Agnis.)
Just outside Whiterun on our way back to Breezehome we found Louis Letrush, the man who had me break into the Black Briars home to steal a horse, but some magic had clearly gone wrong.
Roggi and I lured out a woman who had betrayed her people. Here is the guy making sure he got her.
A Dibella statue I stole from an Argonian called Deekus. He had it coming.
I went to sleep and woke up in a shack having been kidnapped by a member of the Dark Brotherhood. (So that’s what that message was about.) I was told that one of these people had a bounty on their heads and I was to figure out which and then kill my choice.
I chose the Khajit, because he admitted to being a ‘defiler of daughters’, but Astrid (my kidnapper) refused to tell me if I got it right…
What I’d like to know is how she got past Roggi AND my housecarl without anyone noticing..
