Skyrim DLC We’d Like To See

Following on from the pattern laid out in previous Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, we know that Bethesda usually don’t do dribs and drabs when it comes to DLC. They do the much better thing of delivering a better more substantial chunk of expansion.

The Dragonborn Conquest Campaign

The debate as to whether you should join either the Empire or Stormcloaks in the Civil War is a question that plagues most players.

A good third option could be that the Dragonborn chooses not to take sides and instead attempts to unite the country under his or her own banner.

The quest would not be available immediately as the option of joining either army is, but gained later when the Dragonborn has created a name for themselves in Skyrim.

Perhaps the prerequisite should be that they become Thane of a certain number of Holds and/or hold a high rank among the Companions or the College of Winterhold.

With these titles, influence can grow and people may be more attracted to the third option in the war.

Part of the quest may open up access to the lair detailed in this post.

The Dragonborn may fight a war in one of two ways. They may try to find a peaceful resolution and unite the Empire and Stormcloaks (hopefully intent on destroying the Thalmor).

Alternatively, force and slaughter may be the Dragonborns choice of method.

Different Jarls may react differently and some may force you into combat. Jarl Balgruuf is likely to be welcoming, having sympathy for both causes, while perhaps Maven Black-Briar becomes a difficult customer.

On the way, the Dragonborn may recruit followers and promote them to Generals or even Jarls.

There would likely be a number of quests revolving around building the bulk of the army too, finding men and women willing to fight with you.

Striking against the Thalmor

Whoever wins the Civil War, be it Empire, Stormcloak or Dragonborn, the option to go on and assault the Aldmeri Dominion should open.

They are the real enemy and no matter what happens, should be driven from Skyrim.

Perhaps, depending on who wins the Civil War, the fight against the Thalmor will take different turns.
