1. Aragorn is interested even though he already has a girlfriend
Aragorn takes a liking to Éowyn when they meet, but he is a good loyal man. He has already promised himself to Arwen.
Arwen is regarded as one of the most beautiful women in Middle Earth, one of the most powerful, magical and wise. Still Éowyn can distract Aragorn from his elf woman. He realises that he has more in common with the warrior human female.
But childhood romances die hard and his choice to remain with the lesser elf is reasonable.
2. She’s a real warrior
Éowyn spent all her time wanting to fight, to go to war at Aragorns side and prove her worth to her people.
She had trained in the art of swordplay and could hold her own in a fight as well as any of the warrior men.
Arwen sat back at Rivendell waiting and sulking about Aragorn going off to fight. Her biggest battle was the decision of whether to stay in the world with her love, or go with her family to live forever in their version of heaven.
3. Éowyn killed the Witch King
Sure Arwen summoned a river to take the shape of horses and attempt to drown all nine of the Nazgul, but she didn’t actually manage to kill a single one.
Even with all her elf magic she wasn’t able to do what a mortal woman was able to with one sword.
No man could kill the Witch King, so you’d think the double whammy of being a woman and an elf would be in Arwens favour.
4. Éowyn is a much more social person
She befriends Merry and encourages him to join her in battle. She also enjoys the company of Gimli.
Arwen hides herself away from the gathering heroes and only pops out to talk to her boy toy Aragorn. She ignores the important matter of the impending end of the world and harps on about whether she can bring herself to leave him and go to heaven or stay and spend a few years with him.

5. Éowyn is better looking
Now, this may at first seem to be a matter of opinion but let’s use some scientific measurements of beauty.
Both Éowyn and Arwen are undoubtedly attractive, but the human woman has the edge.
Both have symmetrical features which is a basic need for beauty, but there is also the matter of feature ratios. Éowyn’s ears, nose and mouth are all in perfect alignment and at the best ratios for beautiful balance. Arwen has longer features that do not balance quite as well. She also has those pointy elf ears.
Éowyn has more rounded, soft, balanced features, while Arwen has a lot more longer, pointed features. Scientifically Éowyn is the more beautiful.
6. Éowyn doesn’t fall down dead at the first sign of trouble
As Saurons strength grows, the free people of Middle Earth stand up to fight. Éowyn is among them.
Arwen however starts to die. The illness is directly connected to the rising power of Mordor. As evil spreads, she grows weaker.
Aragorn has to defeat Sauron in order to save her. Not because the orcs will spread across the country and slaughter her, but just because she will dramatically die for no good reason.
Éowyn on the other hand will be on the front line. If she is killed it would be bravely in battle at the side of her friends.
