Money One thing that is important in this world is money. I wish it wasn't. I hate it. I truly believe that it is, as they say, the root of all evil. Unfortunately, our world relies on it heavily, and they won't let you get away with not having any, so we all have to do our best to get it and keep enough to survive on. More so frustrating when all we want to do is enjoy the stuff we worked so hard to earn. So here I'm including a few ways that you can stretch your pennies and make the most of them. I use them all myself, and am recommending them based on my own good experience. Save On Your Bills Utility Warehouse is a little known utility supplier who surprisingly outdoes most, if not all, of the big names in the business. Their best selling point (of many) is that you can get all of your utilities in one place (except for water, but I hear they're working on that). They do charge a monthly £2 membership fee, but this not noticeable because of the amount you save on your services. According to Which Magazine, they are the best buy for anyone looking for the services they offer. At the moment they provide: Gas Electricity Landlines Broadband Mobile Tariffs I use them for all these services. Partly because the more services you take up with them, the more you save. They have price guarantees to always be cheaper than British Gas for Gas and Electricity and cheaper than BT for Telephony. They have recently brought out the cheapest mobile tariffs that I have come across too. I'm currently on £10 a month for 500 minutes and unlimited texts. Utility Warehouse They also offer something quite unique for a utilities supplier. The cashback card works like a debit card that you can use to buy things in a large number of stores including Sainsburys, Argos, Top Shop, Thorntons and Boots. Then, depending on the store, you will get between 3-7% of what you have spent taken off of your utilities bill. It is NOT a credit card, you only put on it as much as you can afford, similar to topping up a Pay As You Go mobile. If that's not enough for you, some other people who use Utility Warehouse services are Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and legendary magician Paul Daniels! If anyone knows how to do things right, it's Paul Daniels. All the info you need is on site: Utility Warehouse Save On Shopping This site helps you save money while you are doing your usual internet shopping. Tickbox They work in conjunction with a huge amount of popular online stores including Play.com, Game, HMV Argos, Sainsburys, Tesco and so on, to give you money off. So whenever you do your online shopping, go through this site to save a few pounds. All you do is sign up (for free), then go to their store list, and click the link for the shop that you want to go to. The site then keeps track of where you have gone and gets a commission from whatever is bought on that visit. They then pass on the commission to you as savings. So, initially you pay the full price of the item, but Tickbox gives you some of the money back. I assume they keep a little themselves, but at least you still get something! |
